Weather and Elements

So we're having a bad storm here in central California and I noticed today that all I want to do is lay around and sleep. I've noticed over the years that I react differently around the different elements.

Water and Wind are the most soothing elements for me. The wind in the trees is the lullaby of my life. Where as being in water I feel as if I'm at home, more so than any other aspect in life.

Fire and Earth are a different story. Watching fire can entrance me and fill me with wonder as it crackles and burns. Earth on the other hand is the most interesting there can be for me. I love the crystals that form and grown in it's belly and I also love the different plants and environments that form upon it's surface.

I was wondering if there are others here who experience different feelings about the elements and if they have noticed it at all. I would love to hear about others experiences when it comes to the elements.

This is the admin from www.DianaGarland.com. I've just finished uploading some audio of Diana and I discussing her previous reading of Barack Obama's natal chart.

In it she talks about Barack Obama's pertinence to current Astrological patterns, issues in his child-hood, potential attacks or dangers, underworld groups who may seek to disrupt him, and she also briefly delves into some intuitive material.

This is far more in-depth analysis than her monthly forecasts, and for this reason I post it in communities where it can be heard by astrological practitioners and enthusiast who may be beyond needing to listen to brief monthly sun sign astrology, but who do enjoy these more advanced topics. If this is a x-post for you, I apologize.

Today I'm physically doing the posting for her, but she still receives all replies, and will respond to comments where appropriate.

The Astrology of Barack ObamaCollapse )

Here's my brief introductory message:

I've been a healer, clairvoyant, and astrologer for over 35 years.

Each month I make available free horoscopes, and as of this year I'm posting them up on my LiveJournal, so friend me, and you can read them on your Friend's page.

From time to time I also speak about something in a little more depth, or perhaps share something interesting and relevant I've found. You can find that sort of thing at my website under Podcasts, or on my Journal when I copy it over. My discussion on the astrology of 2012 was particularly popular for some reason, so I'm drawing special attention to that.

Part of my motivation behind my venturing into LiveJournal is that people might give me some feedback, and suggest popular topics I might analyze, so please leave comments and criticism - I don't know what to talk about unless you tell me.

Good to be here, and please enjoy my Journal!

Its Been a While.

I just wanted to drop in and see how every one was doing. I know most of us have probably been busy lately and I just wanted to say hello. So, how are all of you guys doing?

I was also interested if any one made any spiritual progress? I love winter and fall. I feel more at home in these seasons. I like to mediate in these seasons the most. This is the time of year I spend more time outside and I try to be within nature more. Rainy days are my favorite. It’s a real blessing from the natural world that our most precious resource to sustain life simply falls out of the sky.

Has anyone felt any connections with the seasons? If so, please share your experiences, I would like to hear them.

Soul Searching

So I think my yearly depression comes down to this.

In the fall everything dies.

I am reminded...that I too, shall pass from this world

I am not depressed because my life sucks

I am depressed because my life is in fact quite wonderful and passing me by far too quickly.

I get scared and bolt from otherwise happy situations because I think a new start will allow me to escape the inevitable...

Kinda like the Winchester House...if I just keep building the ghosts can't get me.

The past 33 years went like a flash...if Im optimistic..I have another 50....If I'm realistic....probably closer to 30

Maybe not that...I could die tomorrow....easily....

I just found out an old friend's cousin...a few years younger than me....died Sat night...she and her husband both,,,leaving 3 small girls....

I also found out my sister got engaged yesterday......her growing up reminds me how old I am....it cant have been 18 years ago she was born.....dear god...how fast will the next 18 go?

I know the solution is to try to live every second to its fullest...to suck the very marrow from the bones of life......

but in the end...it doesnt matter how much fun I had......or any of us had really.......

Women and a book.

I have enrolled in a gender (not biological sex, but the social idea of what a man, woman or some one in between is) studies class for a month now. It has been a bit of an eye opening experience as to how gender is really engrained in our social behavior. But I wanted to throw this question out here.

On many occasions, the instructor (or students) had referenced the christian bible. I put no faith in it myself, but I do know that many people do. It caused me to think and recall certain bible authors. I know that this religious text does not paint women in a positive light, as well as other well known related texts, belief systems and authors. I only know the authors who wrote negatively about women.

I was wondering if anyone knew any authors in the past who wrote (religious texts) positively about women. Specifically, either in the christian bible (I have not finished reading the whole thing and I don’t plan to finish it) or old supplemental texts (even saints writings) or in any other well known orthodox monotheistic religion? It would help my studies if anyone has anything to input (positive or negative things the have seen about women in writing.)

(I do know that Paganism, Wicca, forms of Devil Worship and other spiritual view points put woman in a more positive light, which is why I am wondering if one of the before mentioned religions have ever looked, at any time, women positively.)

I have decided that I can't find a logical reason for the existence of a "hell". I just don't believe in such a place.
Heaven tho is kind of a very grey area for me. I want to believe in a heaven... but my ideas are a little contradictory. I believe in reincarnation 100%. I have for a while and it makes perfect sense to me. But I also believe that there is such thing as heaven, I just can't find a logical way to fit it in together from what I have heard from the bible, and what I have heard from others with similar beliefs. I only know of the Christian (more so non-denominational) perspective on heaven, and I am very ignorant and naive to other religion's beliefs'. I am curious as to what others think about the subject.
Oh, and hell too! I have my opinion, but I am very curious to hear what others think too ^_^

Being someone who has an interest in the occult field, I keep a look out for possible sources of information. I have found myself sorely disappointed over the years by television recanting of occult related fields. In this instance I am specifically referring to shows such as "A Haunting" or "Paranormal State" (anyone else seen this?) or other spiritual encounter shows. I seen a dozen episodes and have found a pattern in them that is disturbing at the very least. I do understand that this is television (in a television addicted country), but I feel that they are creating a stereotype. I do believe in the spirit world and ghost but these shows are giving mediums, clairvoyants, researches and occultists a bad wrap. I feel these shows may have started out legitimate at first but after a period of time are now scripted. This is the pattern I have noticed in these ghost tales shows.

1. It’s generally a family or couple. (I guess bachelors and single women are completely oblivious to their existence.)
2. It never goes into the people's background. An example is Ted is a construction worker and Lisa is a stay at home mom. That’s as far as it goes. This is probably due to the fact that the episode is a work of fiction (yes, I feel the interviews are becoming staged).
3. It’s mainly the stay at home wife or child who notices it.
4. The dominate money earning figure in the house often dismisses its presence.
5. The spirit in the house is consistently negative, (In which case they usually blame it on the age old culprit, Demons.)
6. A paranormal investigation team or a priest of some kind (usually christian) shows up.
7. It is "discovered" that a "bad" person lived there or "bad" events happened there or an ancient spiritual ritual has occurred there or a Satanist ritual occurred there.
8. An exorcism or cleansing rite follows.
9. The exorcism or ritual doesn't work nine times out of ten.
10. The Family moves away and another family moves in.

I don't know what you guys and gals think, but this pattern has occurred consistently in these shows. I feel that it is because these shows are staged and becoming a stereotype factory. I was just interested to see if anyone else has noticed such patterns arising in ghost shows, occult or paranormal encounter programs. I was also interested in anyone else's view on such programs.

Thought this quiz was interesting^^

well... looks like I can't post my result because the code is messed up or something, but here's the site: http://www.quizgalaxy.com/quiz_47.html

I think that the result I got is somewhat close to what I would think I am, but not quite there. It seems like the person who made it put some thought into it, but it is still just their opinion.
